Can You Hear?

Can You Hear?

(On a day when I was downcast and tired, I begged God to help me. I was mired in emotional mud with no energy. Life seemed overwhelming. This is what he said to me.)

Can you see me? Can you hear my heartbeat? Can you feel the thundering of my coming?

I am sending an army to you, my child. I bring renewal and newness.

You are tired, my love. You have carried a heavy burden of tasks.

Please let me help you.

I can give you the strength for yet another day. Trust me, dear one.

Others are coming to help you. You will be surrounded by my angels on this day.

Let them carry some of your load. Let them be my hands to your day.

I offer the grapes of love and the plums of joy. I bring the sweet taste of pears and berries.

Let me renew your body and restore your emotions. Trust me to do what you cannot.

Rest in me and my strength. I promise to never leave your side, dear one.

Today, let me carry you. Let me recharge your essence.

I am here.

“Yet I will rejoice in the LORD! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! The Sovereign LORD is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights.”

Habakkuk 3:18-19a Tyndale House Publishers, Holy Bible: New Living Translation (Carol Stream, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, 2015).
Always With You

Always With You

I have never forgotten and I have never left you.

Let me continue to lift you. Lean on me and I will give you new strength.

I will show you my path.

Walk on this path of smooth sand.

You may not see around the next corner but you can trust me.

I hold you and I will not let you fall.

Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory.”

Psalm 50:15 Tyndale House Publishers, Holy Bible: New Living Translation (Carol Stream, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, 2015).
Do Not Stop

Do Not Stop

You have climbed a mountain. There are boulders behind. Rocks ahead.

Do not stop.

Do NOT stop.

You have given in to discouragement and self-centered pity in the past. Do not give in again.

You have a mountain to climb and others need what you are learning.

Allow me lift you over the boulders and guard your feet and knees and shins.

Climb this mountain, my love. Together we will do it.

O my Strength, to you I sing praises, for you, O God, are my refuge, the God who shows me unfailing love.

Psalm 59:17 Tyndale House Publishers, Holy Bible: New Living Translation (Carol Stream, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, 2015).
Come, My Child

Come, My Child

Listen to my voice. My words pierce your heart but bring healing. Let the infection gush out. Let me pour healing salve into your wounds. Let me bring healing.

Of course this hurts. Pain is not evil but only a sign of a wound. You have lost a part of yourself. The two were one and that was ripped away.

Of course you have pain. But I will heal you. I bring newness. I transform.

I will never leave you. I will never be torn from you.

Rest in me. Lay your head on my chest. Feel my arms holding you close. Feel my warm embrace.

I am with you always, to the end of the age.

Always.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.

You Are Healing

You Are Healing

I have helped you heal.

It’s time to share.

Let the petals rain over the ones battered by this world’s hurts and loss.

Be my girl of vibrant colors, of delicate flowers, of graceful blossoms.

Share the beauty of healing.

Love them as I love you.

And as I love them.

To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory.

Welcome The Winds

Welcome The Winds

Consider the blades of a windmill, spinning in the wind.

Although you can’t control the wind, you can harness its power when you let the windmill blades spin.

Think of the blades as your interests and abilities–gifts from me.

During times of grief, you wish the blades would stop spinning. You don’t want any changes. You think that allowing the wind to produce fresh energy – a new life that your loved one will never share with you – is disloyal.

You know better. When the center needs attention, pour oil into it. Prepare the windmill and welcome the wind. It will produce newness.

Stay alert to the winds of change. We still have much to do together.

Praise the Lord, for he has shown me the wonders of his unfailing love. He kept me safe…
