Hope that holds

Kathy has buried her husband and both of her parents, losses she wrote about more fully in Cutting Through Despair: Dare to Hope. That experience, paired with a lifetime of study, shapes everything she writes: real grief, Bible studies built for a deeper relationship with Jesus, and encouragement that points toward hope without oversimplifying pain.

She holds a BA in English and an MA in Theological Studies. For more than twenty years she has created and taught Bible studies for adult groups, and she has spoken at women’s conferences and in churches on faith, grief, and endurance. Her writing has earned awards; she has published articles and books and kept a blog readers return to for honest, faith-rooted encouragement.

At the center of her work is a simple conviction: overcoming is possible because hope in God is real. There's not another path of such confidence. Whether she’s teaching a Bible study, speaking to a room of women, or writing her next book, her aim stays the same: to walk alongside readers with both expertise and empathy, and to help them find their way through despair toward hope.
